Last Night I Shot the Mayor
A few weeks ago, while displaying our products at the Burbage Carnival, we were lucky enough to meet the Mayor and his wife. They were looking for a photographer for their official portrait and fortunately enough for us they liked what they saw.
A week later I met with Mayor Jeffrey Bannister and his very helpful and friendly assistant, Tina Lee to see what was required of me. Typically I shoot families and children in a rather informal style so being asked to do such a formal and official portrait had me a little concerned to say the least. Having seen what I was up against the challenge I set myself was to create the most professional, the most flattering and the most attractive portrait to date.
Well last night was the night of our portrait session with the Mayor and Mayoress. I had expected to feel nervous given that I’m much more comfortable photographing children. However Jeffrey and Tricia are such friendly and pleasant people that I soon felt complete confidence that this shoot was going to be successful and relatively painless. And I have to say that it was.
Together we created an image for which I am very proud. I now feel that I have the confidence to do such formal images at any time in the future. Its not something that I would worry about again.
Jeffery and Tricia, if you are reading this, it was a pleasure to photograph you both. I thoroughly enjoyed myself and am very pleased with the results. I hope you are as well. Thank you for choosing Christina Lauder Portraits.
